I had a similar MOPAR engine problem come up with the youngest daughters car. It was a bad EGR valve gasket. But that engine got hot and kept going through coolant with no obvious leaks.

Not possible for the EGR to cause that on the 4.7 though.

i'm not a mechanic, but, after it has for a couple hours, check your dip stick. oil level too high, or strange looking
