Default Laramie Longhorn Ecodiesel Tow Capacity

Hey guys,

I was wondering how much a longhorn ecodiesel can tow. I saw 6700 pounds, but that seemed like misinformation. Does anyone have any info on this?

Thanks!

With the 3.92 rear I think it was around 9,000 to 9,500 lbs, a little less than the Hemi.

A Laramie Longhorn Ram with the EcoDiesel 4x4 Crew Cab with the 6.4 bed can tow 8,350.

Check out anything more with any of the models here.

Yeah Arth is correct. It's quite a bit less than the HEMI similarly equipped in Arth's example.

His ED would tow 8,350 and the HEMI version would tow 9,750 (1400lbs more).

I went to that ram site and it says that the max tow capacity without payload is 7,400 pounds. I was looking into getting a trailer that was 4,700 pounds dry (23 feet). Would this be a good idea or should I look for a lighter trailer? Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help!

Your question could be answered better by the type of trailer

Not sure where you saw that but that is wrong. Arth has the correct numberof 8,350. My crew cab outdoorsman with the pentastar V6 has 7,150 tow rating, so I would certainly thing the ecodiesel can pull more than a couple hundred pounds more than that

Finn, I used the ram website that was posted earlier in the thread. Your answer sounds more correct though. I am assuming that their site is incorrect as well because that seems like way too low of a tow capacity.

GT, here is the trailer...

the diesel and that trailer would be fine. the most you'd likely load the trailer would be 2000lbs, with avg load of 1000lbs so yourmtrailer is looking to be around 5700-6700lbs, tongue weight would be 700-750 lbs at most, question would come down to payload availability and weight of passengers.

on another note the trailer had a lot of black streaking, I would give the roof a once over and make sure its still good.
