I was wondering what best mods are for it I put a spectre cai and gf chip but what to get more power for towing, looking for headers and hyper tech programmer what would you suggest not used to computer control cars. I've built many carb engines for horsepower not new to engine building just computers.
first knock that gf chip off. It will only end up harming your PCM and possibly the engine in the long run. Get a real programmer, like SCT from hemifever or hypertech. do NOT run a GF chip or any of the other chips like it if you are running a genuine programmer. You could permanently damage your engine... If you wanna know why just ask and I will explain.
It's debatable whether or not a CAI is really going to add any power. My comment is, that they may add some power, but your money is best spent elsewhere, as the stock airbox is usually more than capable unless you are building a stroker or a wild cam.
Some of the best mods for towing, depending on what you want to do and spend:
A towing cam, commonly known as a RV cam
A 4.10 axle ratio (many of the rams come with a 3.55)
Dual plane intake manifold, such as a mopar m1 or you could modify your factory intake manifold
Also make sure your plenum isn't blown, that can seriously hurt power.
A good set of "towing heads", I'm not talking about heads that bump compression.
A real programmer, not a chip that fools the PCM.
