Default tires

What is the largest tire I can put on a stock 1987 without rubbing? I just wanna fill up the wheel well.

Gen1dak will become famous soon enough

I run 31 x 10.5 on factory wheels. It looks like a 4x4, but it's 2wd. I think they're 6 inch wide wheels. Much better looking. I only get a rub on the right front tire at max steering deflection when under hard braking or if really bouncing (spirited brake and steer, like hard braking on a main road, then 90 degree turn. All the weight is on the right front). It's much less an issue on the left. Perfectly livable. Doesn't happen in regular driving). Now, those same tires on 8 inch wide wheels, the rubbing is more frequent, but it's still not a big deal, and it looks tuff. However, the wider wheels are even better looking under my 4x4 RC (an '84) so they're under it. With a mild lift it's a non-issue.
