The '92 had a little more pep, but that was due to tuning and exhaust primarily (the company line mentioned slightly more aggressive cam timing as well, but this would be minimal). The changes after '92 were, according to Chrysler, due to public feedback that claimed to indicate a desire for more low-end power. The smaller exhaust and any other changes in tuning did not actually accomplish that, but it did cut the cost of each engine unit. The longblocks interchange. Some of the early '93's did get the larger exhaust before the change.
