Default 1987 dodge ram w 250 brake pad clips ? where do they go please help

Ok I've bin doing a dynatrac hub Yukon internal locking hubs 30 to 35 spline upgrade. Spindle 35 spline almost has no room it turns but clearance is maybe 1/8 inch around crazy. My question is the stupid little brake clip where does it go this whole upgrade was a whole monster task. 2 days sofar the other side has 8 stripped studs wtf. Please help with brake clip

Brake clip goes on the bottom side of the inside shoe fit's right into slot .
