Default Wiring help

Hey guys ...hoping someone here can help. I have a 2005 1500 quad cab with a 5.7 hemi. I picked up a SRT10 pillar with a oil temp gauge minus the wiring for it. I looked up Auto Meter 5226 Wiring Harness Stepper Temperature kit for it and was wondering if anyone knows if this will work on a 5.7 hemi as in a plug and play setup or was the temp gauge strickly for the srt10 engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't really need the wiring harness if you are comfortable with wiring.

What you will need is a full sweep temp sending unit. Full sweep meaning the gauge needle will sweep across the whole face of the gauge. I think you would be safe with a 250 degree to 360 degree sweep. Just be careful as there are a ton of the 90 degree sweep temp sending unit

I think the oem is 5269870AB. Otherwise try Wells SU3207 or the dealer for the oem part.
