Default Pendaliner Extreme NonSkid bed liner

My first post everyone, but I had to join to tell me story.

In October, I got a new 2013 Ram 2500 with the diesel engine and way too many bells and whistles. I wanted to do something nonskid in the bed area for the items I haul. My previous trucks have all had spray in bed liners from the factory, this one didn't. Well, I was cheap and bought a pendaliner. I was ok doing it because it was extreme non-skid - the pendaliner rep I spoke with on the telephone told me it was "just as good" as the spray-ins. She was wrong.

Tonight, I had almost two tons of quikrete placed in the back of the truck on a wood pallet. I left the home improvement store and had to slow to a stop from about 10 mph for a stoplight. The next sound I heard was the 3500 lbs of concrete sliding into the back of the bed. My bike rack took the brunt of the force, but it caused significant sheet metal damage. Without the bike rack, I probably would have had 80 lb bags of concrete flooding through the back window of my truck. Significantly smaller loads have a tendency to slide everywhere too.

Additionally, the bed liner isn't formed to the bed so the pallet went through the corner of the liner.

Oh, my truck has the ram box with the bed extender. If you want to use that throughout the truck as a separator, you have to cut out little notches pre marked in the liner. It's kind of a pain in the rear, but not too bad (use a dremel). However, if you do anything serious with your truck, pass on the pendaliner and get something sprayed in.

I've emailed pendaliner and I'm hopeful they'll respond. I don't have my hopes up though.

I'll update as things proceed.

Mike

Thanks for the welcome, Roger!

As a follow up to the first post, I received a next day response from the folks at Pendaliner. The customer service rep has offered a refund with proof of my receipt. I'll take her up on that for sure! It'll help cover the cost of a spray-in liner. Now, I just need to look at how bad the body damage is. I'm sure they won't assist with that, but the truck has full coverage so it may be just worth making the claim. Normally, I wouldn't worry about damage to a pickup bed, but my truck has the Rambox setup and I'm worried about those leaking due to the damage.

So, to be fair, I'm not impressed with pendaliner's product, but their customer service is dead on! I mean, an immediate response, an apology, and an offer of a refund. THAT really is stand up of them.

So their product sucks, but the customer service is great. Good to hear they took care of you, Mike.
Yes, at least get an estimate on the damage and see if the RamBox's are compromised in any way.
Thanks for the follow up, as well. It's always good to hear how things turn out. Reps for the follow up post.
