Question Brake question!

So I'm at 42k miles on my 2011 Ram 1500 that I bought brand new. This month it goes in for inspection. I'm thinking that they might tell me I need new brake pads. Question for you fellas is, do I take the MOPAR VALUE LINE BRAKE special for $145 installed per axle or do I go out and buy the EBC "green" brake pads for $145 for both axles and pay to get them installed?

At 42k miles, unless most of it is city driving, I'd be very surprised if the brake pads are done yet. But if you want to upgrade, EBC Green Stuff pads are awesome. Had them in a previous car that I tracked sometimes and they were the business.

I just had my truck in for brake inspection (48000km or 56000k miles), i was told still 1/2 the pads left and the rotors are in excellent shape. The dealer said I should get about 100000km from the brakes. I am thinking you will be fine.

My driving is about 90% highway, i just changed my brakes at 100,000 miles
the rotors had a little lip on them & i had them turned

I used the POSI QUIET pads
http://www.centricparts.com/products/posiquiet
The shop that i used is a ASE, AAA, BBB, Certified/Approved

Places like Tire Rack & AutoAnything one of this sites sponsors, speak to TOM, carry them

I didn't know original brakes can last that long. I always thought brakes lasted roughly around 50k miles give or take. I do more city driving than I do highway and I live in the northeast so that will tell ya what kind of drivers are around here! lol aka moron drivers that just pull out in front of you all the time and slam on their brakes to avoid a squirl in the road

I know what you mean, small vehicle drivers don't wait for proper clearance when cutting in front of a semi truck, i wince when driving up your way
I was taught to look for both headlights in my rear view mirror before cutting back in front of another vehicle, the driving school was in Connecticut, many moons ago

I had EBC on my 3rd gen and I wasn't impressed. I had the Green Stuff pads and EBC drilled/slotted rotors. After about 10k miles they felt like shit and honestly little improvement for the $$$.
