Default Successful Wild Vent Repair.... So Far...

Howdy Folks !!

Many years ago my 95 Ram started the "wild vent experience". I even remember that we were driving down I-5 in Calif. heading to Disneyland when it started !!!

Anyhow... I finally found this fine forum and just today checked and replaced that darn little Vacuum Check Valve.

You know, the one that looks like a slow dripper on a irrigation line for your flower bed. It sits right off the Intake Manifold.

The original one passed air both directions and just for kicks I gently stuck a small nail into it to see if there are any moving parts that may be stuck. It felt a little spongy so I didn't press the issue.

So I gave it a little squirt of silicone lube, let it sit a few minutes and, after wiping it down, blew in both directions. Now it works !! So into a baggy it goes and into the spare parts drawer for any future need !!!

Now, anyone have good info on replacing the HVAC box as my flow into the cab is not too good. Probably have faulty doors etc..

Thanks !!
