Default Upgrading the OEM Alpine in regular cabs... worth it?

Just wanted to know what has been your experience in upgrading the Alpine Sound on the regular cabs, I have the 8.4N HU which of course can't be replaced so I would need to get a signal from somewhere... Any pointer on where should I look?

No one has upgraded their stock alpine stereo in a regular cab? I have an R/T and was wondering where to start with upgrading since we get cheated out of a sub.

I have a 2014 R/T and through research and taking it to a relatively high end audio shop in Atlanta who put an RTA on it. This is what I have discovered and have done.
1) There is no full range signal to any speaker. The dash 3.5 inch are 1000hz-20,000hz. The doors are 20-1000hz and the rear pillar 6x9 inch speakers are 50-20,000hz.
2) I used an Alpine MR-V500 mono amp and a RF slim dual 4 ohm 12" sub. I tapped into the door speaker leads under the dash at the factory amp. I do not remember the wire colors but do remember that it is the 22 pin plug, not the 16 pin one. I would suggest taking the door panels off and verifying wire colors.
3) You can find wiring diagrams for your truck at this address: [url]https://techauthorityonlinedemo.extra.chrysler.com/service/repair/wiring/view/classic.html
4) I used the kicker drop in set from Mopar to replace all 3 dash speakers and the doors. A real noticeable improvement. The part number is 77kick42. Ebay or a dealer site is your best option on getting them. My next step will be putting an amp on them.

Hope this helps
