Default Type of Diesel Fuel.

Hello there, recently I heard from a friend that he was denied service under the warranty because he used the 'wrong diesel' type. Is there a different grades of diesel, if yes which ones should be used.

Probably had agricultural diesel in his tank (the red stuff). I don't know why that should invalidate a warranty claim though. Maybe I'm missing something, but it sounds like a flimsy excuse to me.

There's two blends of fuel, road and farm. The road stuff has the highway taxes included so it's a little more expensive than the farm version. Legally, all farm diesel is colored red so it's easy to detect. If you get caught running the red fuel in a highway vehicle, the fees and fines are super high.

If the dealership wanted to deny warranty coverage for this, it's a little flimsy to me but I can see where they're coming from. The farm diesel may not be the same low sulphur diesel as the highway stuff. In that case it would definitely cause some damage.
