Hey Rob, how's it going man. I'm new to the site and was looking for some help trying to install the bilstein shocks. I took it by an auto shop but they we're saying they could not get the spring perch off, and was wondering how you took that off if you did it yourself. Also if you did do it yourself do you know if the black cap ontop of the shock is removable? I included a pic showing the stock shock to the trx4. It's the black cap on top that will not let us take off the spring perch. Any advice will help. Thanks!

I was under the impression that the bilstein shocks come with new spring perches??

I dont see why you'd have to remove the old one!

The OE spring perch has to be used on the Bilstein shock
All that is provided with the Bilstien is the clip (that you adjust for height) that the spring perch sits on.
Many shops will say they cannot remove because of the shock dust cap, but that cap, can be knocked off allowing for you/them to remove it.

Exactly what fast said. It may take some doing, but the stock perch does come off.

Its the shock dust cap that throws off many. Take a screw driver or something with somewhat of a pointed edge and take a hammer/mallet to it and it will pop off
