Default UConnect 5" USB

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone has tried hooking up an external hard drive through the USB port and playing your music through the media option on the UConnect 5" radio? If so does the hard drive have to be a certain size and formatted to FAT file format etc? I have a drive of 320 GBs and wanted to put my mp3 music collection on it and just play through the hard drive on my radio. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks In Advance!

I use a tuff n tiny usb flash drive by verbatim @ 16 gigs and it works great. It will hold about 3000 songs and if you want more get the 32 or 64 gig. The great thing is when plugged in only sticks out 3/4 of an inch. I'm not sure whether UConnect will recognize a drive that large and provide enough power to run it. the other thing about an external hard drive is the bulk and if driving on bumpy or gravel roads you may experience issues because of the moving parts inside the drive. If you do try the hard drive make it is formatted to fat32.
