Exclamation Alternator or ECM Problem

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel 12 valve and I am having a problem with the charging system. I have replaced the alternator and the ECM both and neither have solved the problem. I have power to everything and have checked the wires to all. At one point when I replaced the ECM it charged the system for about 5 minutes then when I shut the engine off and started it back up the Alternator would not charge. Had the Alternator checked and it is OK. In need of some ideas as to what could be wrong. Also checked all fuses and they are OK.
