Default Engine oil and filter change

Now that I've used up my 4 free Dealer oil changes, today I changed my oil and filter myself for the first time. I HAVE seen/changed harder to access vehicles than the 5.7 Ram! The filter I covered with a gallon zip-lock bag, no mess. The rest was super easy. And I was dreading doing this myself after reading some of the previous posts! PIECE OF CAKE!

Great to hear. I change my own as well and yes a piece of cake. Hardest one for me was the first one, that factory filter must be installed by robots. LOL

My old (dealer installed) filter was barely hand tight, with a couple of oil runs down the side. At least from now on I'll have some control of how good my service is done!

I have never changed my own oil. After seeing how many guys on here do it themselves I want to give it a try.

Right you are! Working on boats for a living, I slid under my truck and thought: "Hey.... I can see it AND touch it at the same time!"

All the guys who say it is a "bitch" to change the oil on a Ram have never worked on boats or foreign cars!
