Question cold air intake or 14x3 cleaner with hood scoop?

I'm looking into doing a custom cai that sits real close to the front grille for some actual COLD air, but then I saw some posts about using a 14x3 air cleaner. Most people seem to think it doesn't help much since it pulls hot air still, but what if I had a hood scoop to ram cool air right onto it? Thoughts? Best bang for buck?

Years ago I swapped a round air cleaner onto a 5.9L and it actually lost quite a bit from a dig. There's something to that venturi effect of a tube (I think) with a TB. Most of that hood scoop stuff is for looks. The FIPK is a good one, there's tons of them out there. But for $350 I would get it flashed first. That - you WILL feel.

I have the mopar performance round air cleaner and I love it. No loss of power. I did the throttle body mod at the same time and between the 2 I got significant throttle response
And if you like to play in the mud the air cleaner is out of the way so it doesn't suck up water or mud
