Default ram 4500

had to take my truck to the dealership for service on the exhaust fluid system. they had truck for nearly 3 weeks, after a nice $9000.89 ticket, and not even having my truck back a week, i am getting an alert that is telling me that my exhaust filter is 90 % full and now is in need of regeneration....unbelievable i figured they would have fixed everything for 9 grand right? so what should i do? the dealership says this is normal....really? can the system be bypassed? dont really want to deal with dealership again if i can get it done

You have options. You can spend some money on the delete to replace the bulges in your exhaust that contain the offending filters. Or you can just let the dealership do it's thing and then unplug your EGR. That will give you a code P0405 and your CEL will stay on. But the truck will drive fine. It will require far less regens with the EGR unplugged. You just have to watch if you live in a state that requires annual inspections including smog tests on diesels.

Or you can get serious and do it all..

I would think so unless he has over 100,000 miles on it...

To the OP... yes you can delete... google search "delete Cummins emissions" but you really should have done that before paying to repair the factory system... You could have deleted for about 1/3 what you paid for your repair and never had to worry about it again... unless you travel into a state/county that does emissions testing on diesels.
