This is true. Aluminized will rust out from the inside out, but as long as you don't just drive 3 blocks and shut it off every day, the stuff will last for YEARS. (i.e', you need to warm the exhaust system up fully and dry it out for maximum longevity)
Another tip about tips,,, Stainless tips last longer than chrome, but if you spray the inside of a new chrome tip with high temp BBQ paint, they will last a LOT longer than an 'unpainted' chrome tip.
