Default 6.4 performance out of 5.7

I bought a 13 2500 with 5.7 and wasn't planning on towing a lot but now it seems I have a trailer of some sort hooked to my truck. Is it possible to almost get 6.4 performance out of my 5.7 with the usual mods cai, tuner, exhaust ect. I want more power for highway speeds but I really don't want a diesel

What gears do you have? Bet if you dropped down to 4:10's, you'd see a big difference. I'm surprised to hear that you are not happy, the 2500's that I have driven, with 5.7 hemis felt pretty nice. A friend has a 5.7 1500 MegaCab which was built on the 2500 chassis, he has 3:92 gears and it's quite fast. It's hard to beat cubic inches, though. I've done a lot of $hit to my 05 Ram, headers, deleted cats, Vararam, and the best mod by far was a cam upgrade. It took a lot of money and dyno tuning to get 50 more rwhp on the old 345 hp hemi, to get to where the new vvt hemis are.

maybe it was just me but the 3/4 ton hemi i drove felt slow. depending on your stock gears, that would help. and then do some bolt on stuff. exhaust…..

I have 3:73 gears It does fine except at 65 plus mph. Trailer I'm usually pullin is enclosed and prolly weighs 5 to 6000 loaded. It's those windy days that it really seams like it struggles.
