Ok I have a vibration in my 06 4x4 1500.. All new ball joints and tie rod ends and wheel bearings... New tires, still vibrates. Any common problems with these? I know my cv joints are getting bad... Happens over 45. New u joints in the driveshaft too.. I'm at a loss lol. Any ideas? Wheel doesn't shake, just vibration in the steering wheel but no movement in it
I had a similar problem. The solution will depend on just what kind of vibration it is. Mine felt like out of balance or out of round tires. I took it back to where I had the tires installed at least three times to have the tires rebalanced with no improvement (and countless alignments). Finally about a month ago (this problem has been around for about two years!) I took it to my local Les Shwab. They did a road force balance (or dynamic balance) and the problem is fixed. My truck has never driven so well. My problem was worst at freeway speeds. Hope this helps!
Definitely have your tire Road Forced balanced if you problems.
My other thought would be the driveshaft got dinged when replacing the U-Joints. I did that once by accident. Had to have the tube replaced by having the yokes welded on a new tube. It was like 200 bucks.
My problem with this was the rims themselves 20 inch oem rims were bent at the center and non repairable. I got a set of replica rims and the speed vibration stopped. When you go get them balanced get in the shop yourself while the wheel is on the balancer and if you the wheel straight on the balancer you'll see a hop or a side to side wobble in the wheel then that's your vibration problem. These aluminum wheels suck. Even one of my replica gotta replaced due to potholes in the satx streets.
