Default how to get rid of musty odor

just discovered the 3rd brake light was leaking in the 2012 ram. had noticed a musty smell for a few days after a heavy rain. i fixed the leak with some clear coat, and spent a few days drying out the carpet in the back (just underneath the rear seats). i dried the insulation back there as well. problem is the musty, wet odor is not going away. i checked again, it is all still dry. any thoughts on how to get rid of it? i left the windows down on the nice days to help. i drive with them open when feasible. i also tried lysol and febreze. it has been a week. any thoughts?

if the water source is gone, and your dry back there, then get yourself something called autovaccine.

it will kill any odour.

I agree with primo. Make sure that it's dry and won't get wet any more but my go to product for getting rid of smells and what you should get is Freshana AIRIA.

Your carpet is NOT the problem. Underliner (sound deadner) under carpet is a 3/4 thick reclaimed rag material. Its wet and will stay wet till you pull seats and roll up carpet to get to it. Open all the doors and let it air dry a day or to till GOOD and dry. re-assemble spray a little Fabreeze in there shut the doors let it sit overnight/ Problem solved.
