Question am/fm cd-player advice

I bought a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 and the radio did not work. I was given a am/fm cd-player, part # P56038622AJ which is not for the year model I have. I am on a serious budget and would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to make this radio work in my truck. Or does anyone know of a website that will show this info????? Please help!

I would try buying the harness for the radio, then buying a harness for the truck. Then just connecting the two like you would an aftermarket head unit. But I'm not sure if there is anything special about that stereo that would require anything extra. But that's at least where I personally would start.

Any 2008 & older radio that dodge made that fits in the console will work
the wiring may be a bit different, but if it is good, it will work

2009 & newer dodge ram radios will not work
