Default How much Freon

I thought there was suppose to be sticker that told me how much freon my 04 hemi holds...but it does not seem to be present. Anybody know what 'full' is on my a/c system? greatly appreciate the assistance.

Default a/c issues

So I am having trouble with my a/c system short cycling and not cooling properly at idle or a stop. Most people have told me the first thing to check is freon as its the simplest fix. I have googled how much freon should be in my system and received conflicting reports. Anyone have a number for lbs of freon?

Don't worry about how much in pounds. Get an r134a manifold and check your pressures. Low side should be around 30, high around 240.

This is going to sound dumb you are talking PSI, correct? my gauge only goes to 150, so I guess I need a better gauge as its showing the needle is barried at 150psi, but still not cooling at idle.

You sure you got an r134a gauge set? Or are you using like a recharge kit that's on low side only?

Its a recharge kit with a gauge; I didn't look at it before when we were posting to discover that it only goes to 150; I will go get a stand alone gauge.

The pressure is going to read different values depending on the outside temperature. What may be a "normal" pressure for someone in Maine is certainly not going to be the same as here in this Hell known as Texas!

There are "charts" that show the different readings for different outside temperatures.

with a compressor short cycling first thing i'd check is to make sure the condensor fan is running while the AC is on. if that's not running check the fuse and swap the a/c relay with another one in the box. if the fuse is good, swapped the relay and the condenser fan still isn't running it's the fan motor. They are very common I've done two already in two different 3rd gen rams.
