Default Question for all you exhaust nuts out there.

Hey guys. Depending on how long I have my truck, I plan on redoing the exhaust. Whoever had the truck before me did I horrible job. There are exhaust leaks everywhere, and I want a better sound. My catalytic converter on my current setup is starting to get plugged, and I know I need an O2 sensor, so for now I'm just going to hollow the cat out, and replace the O2 sensor (I have 2 years until my next e-check is required). The question I really wanted to ask is if getting the full manifold-to-cat pipes from magnaflow or flowmaster are worth it.

Here's what I'm talking about: something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flowmaster-2...07fe52&vxp=mtr, or stock bent pipes with all those restrictions like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Walker-C...ba8d9f&vxp=mtr

I'll probably end up putting a nice single in dual out setup from magnaflow or flowmaster on at the same time. Any input is helpful, and I probably won't do this until spring next year, but I'd like to know ahead of time. Thanks, guys!

That Flowmaster set up looks like the way to go. I'm pretty lucky, no emissions testing in Maine and my fabricator made me a custom catless system off JBA headers with cutouts going into Borla duals.

would I actually see a power or gas mileage increase with a flowmaster system on it?

I put the flowmaster set up on my 04. I didn't notice any power increase and the mileage went from 9.2 mpg to 9.8 so negligible. It looks and sounds great though. I got the angled cut upgrade for the tips and cut the pipes to end just under the rear bumper. The muffler is a flowmaster 44. Hope this helps. Easy install by the way.
