Thank-you so much for this. Its like falling in love with my truck all over again. I have Flowmaster S-44's and when the MDS kicks in, it just sounds like a Honda with 4 fart cans.

Now I just hop in, switch to 5th and good to go. No noticible mileage loss either.

My 2013 Ram was a little different. I have the column shifter and if I put it into drive and push the + button it does nothing; I have to push the - button and it will go into 1st gear, then press the + button to cycle it through the rears from 1-6. I usually leave it in 4th or 5th and this seems to work. If this is wrong please advice.

In Dec of '12 I drove my Ram to K.C. Mo. On the way there I avg 23.6 driving just over 60. On the way back I avg 24.7. I thought that was great! But since I put the Arid air inlet on my avg around town and short seven to ten mile drives it states 17.0 to 17.5. I know that I have 3.55 in the rear. Also it's not 4x4 either. Wouldn't that matter too?

I've had my truck since Aug of '12 and it has 11000 miles logged.I think she is still breaking in. I'm ok with the MDS, just not so much around town. I think they should have programed it to only come on in OD for the highway.

Fairly clear at this point the Ram engineers need to install an MDS on/off button on future Ram modles.

i would have to agree. It's not necessarily bad when having no aftermarket exhaust however like everyone says once after...

If I'm not mistaken, on our 6speed trannies, 5th gear is at a .75:1 ratio. So on your 8speed, your 7th gear would be preferable with a ratio of .84:1. Your 6th gear is at a 1.00:1 as is our 4th gear on our 6speed. Did I confuse ya yet Jbenson?

No not yet. I just took a little drive and left it in 8th but didn't like the way it shifted and it seemed to studder when shifting up from second to third. Don't know that I'll like that. Think a turner with the ability to turn of the mds is in my future
