Default SD Card with upgrade N-Nav. What does it do?

I have tried a blank SD card and a SD card with media/photos and MP3 on it and It just errors out. WHat am I doing wrong? Can you put movies on the SD card? Can you put photos and music? What all does this thing do and what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I think it supposed to be used as another medium for audio files only.

If it is not formatted to FAT32 then that may be the issue

You cannot put movies on your SD card, however in a limited extent you can put photos onto your SAD card as "album art" matched to the songs playing or however you wish to match them up.

Here is a photo tutorial on doing so once your card is properly formatted, etc.:

Here are some of my examples for "album art"

I just bought an SD card last night on Amazon.

I assume I can just take my songs off my Mac and throw them on there and it should play on my Ram? 8.4AN

It seems I remember reading that someone had problems getting music that came from a Mac to work on that radio. My 64GIG SD card is formatted using NTFS and works fine. I copied my iTunes music folder including the album artwork to the SD card and it works great. I'm assuming the card works in a PC, so it sounds like a formatting or a file/folder issue. Might have to use a PC instead of a Mac to load the SD card.

I bought an app from the App Store called Playlist Export to get my iTunes music onto the SD card. Copying the Music folder would have copied all versions of my music files, not just the ones I wanted. I import from CD using lossless compression and I have some old WAV files and I turn those files into compressed AAC files for my phone, iPod, and iPad. Plus I turned some into mp3 files a long while back. I only wanted the AAC files for the SD card.

One thing I found in this process was my iTunes library needed some cleaning up. The online music databases are not very consistent. As an example, the artist for one album might be "Bachman Turner Overdrive" but would be "BTO" for another. Or a song title might use a hyphen on one album but a space on another. The databases have a lot of typos and other naming inconsistencies. These problems were obvious when I was browsing my music on the UConnect.
