So I am definetely going to do this, probably the first weekend in July. I will post pictures when I am complete.

Found this place to buy it online in Canada for almost half the price of Canadian Tire and Home Hardware:

Also found these pictures online using a deck of cards to mask the wheels:

BradZ, did any plasti-dip come off the lugs when you tightened them?

Cheers

Plasti Dip is really starting to take off! I was made a believer in the product two years ago and have since tried all kinds of stuff. In Massachusetts, the place to buy black, white, or glossifier is at Walmart. $4 vs. $8 at Advance auto and Auto zone. The car stores have some of the blaze colors but if you want the good stuff you have to get it online, and I suggest buying a case of 6 all at once if you need to.

I'm now this summer using a black base with 4 coats, then did metallizer, followed by glossifier. It is a gunmetal look that has flake to it, almost comes close to matching brilliant black pearl paint in certain light conditions. I've had them straight black in the past and even blue.

I would spray the wheels upright and roll the wheels when you need to get paint coverage in tight spots, this means paint a coat or two, then roll the truck forward to flip the top and bottom to ensure best coverage. you shouldn't really tip the can sideways if you want the best spray pattern. I would also recommend the card trick for the perimeter. If you take the wheels off, if you're picky like me you'll paint the inside of the wheels also so they don't look funny when you look through the wheels.

yes, some did come off, I simply resprayed it once they were on. It's a pretty simple touchup to do with this stuff.

I'd never heard of the stuff till I joined this site, now I'm quite happy with it, there's a couple guys at work who've done it now since they saw mine and everybody seems happy with it

Oh, and don't freak when you spray the first coat and it looks like ass right away and reminds you of your ex girlfriend's cottage cheese thighs. Just try to avoid huge runs, little ones will absorb themselves. It's better to do a 50% coat at first, then walk away for 15 minutes. You come back and it's like the new girlfriend's smooth skinned bum. If you need to run a tape line at all it's better to pull it right after you spray a heavy first coat and if it's not too much work, to retape it for the second heavy coat in this area. if you wait too long the tape will easily begin to lift the edge of the plasti dip which can stretch it a bit if it started to dry thus ruining the crisp straight line.

you need some better taste in women....

HWOEVER the actual reason for this reply is to sort of echo what you said. I had a couple little botches in the first coat that covered up easily with the rest .

Plasti dip the lugs with them installed, otherwise you will mark them up when putting them on. You'll probably have to touch them up every time you remove the lugs/
It is amazing how your truck came out Sshadow, I have a TRX and Im wanting to paint the silver to black but the question i have is since the black is a pearl black is there a way to match that. Plasti Dip also is matte, is there a gloss to make it look well, glossy?

You simply spray it on top of the matte

there is some awesome plasti dip videos on you tube. They found that if you clear coat on top of plasti dip, its damn near impossible to get off.
I dipped the honeycomb grill I have, turned out nice. Only had 1 can though, and when I wanted it off, it was too thin, and a pain to pull off. Would also recommend using as many coats as possible if you are ever wanting to remove it.

I would have to look around, but someone here said that they've tested dip with clear coat, and if you do ... I think he said 6ish coats, so pretty decent thickness, that the clear comes off. Please don't take my word for it though.
Personally I'd just use the Plasti-dip glossifier. I have seen 'horror' videos on youtube of people trying to take clear coated Dip off, so I know what you're talking about.
I mean if someone really wanted to test it out, it wouldn't be that hard, nor too expensive, I just wouldn't test it on a truck. I know I usually have a rattle can of clear laying around somewhere nowadays.

ANYWAY. Just throwing what I've read somewhere on the Z out there.
