Folks, check out what happened,
Security Dodge on Long Island!
Did a national search for a Chrysler Certified Pre-Owned Dodge Ram 2500. I was looking specifically for a 2010 Lamerie with low miles. I found two, one in Texas and another New York. I was searching for over 18 months for this vehicle.
Being thrilled to have found my needle in a haystack locally I called and asked about the vehicle forsale. A salesman stated that it was certified and went through its rigorous 125-point inspection and nothing was wrong with it.
Paid for the vehicle on 6/11 and it was delivered to me on 6/19 with an open I OWE YOU for monies owed, open safety recall, check engine light and spare tire. Mind you this vehicle was certified over a month prior. But I will show you everything on this site.
Chrysler HQ was called on my behalf and immediately (next day)dispatched me to another local dealership (Atlantic Dodge) and they have found the following:
· Safety recall not completed.
· Bone dry transfer case that required replacement [gears broken internally and no oil in case for a long time]
· Steering box required replacement
· O2 sensor failure [cause of check engine light]
· Various tie rods badly worn
· Defective fobik key
· Reverse light out
· Broken rear lock mechanism (door wouldnt lock)
· Dead driver and passenger power mirrors.
Would you consider this a Certified Pre Owned Vehicle? All the above challenges were found within 24 hours of taking ownership. I was specially told by Chrysler HQ to not return the vehicle to Security Dodge they wanted it fixed at another dealership.
The dealership claims they provided the I OWE YOU knowing there was challenges with the truck and to come back and repair them. The point here is I purchased a Certified vehicle at a premium and I got scammed into the deal. I BOUGHT A CERTIFIED VEHICLE SO I WOULDNT HAVE TO RETURN IT FOR REPAIRS! And now they want me to sign a release document freeing them and anyone they do business with before they send me my check.
