Default Performance Chips

Please, I need advice. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with 4.7L engine, 4WD, 3.92 gears and looking to improve performance. Anybody recommend performance chips or are they bogus? I am also thinking about improving cold air induction to get it further into the front grill. Comments?

chips no but there are tuners there are two types ones like superchips that come with tunes in them that are great if your not planning on doing a lot to the truck except bolt ons and the second is sct type that are custom where you have to have a tunner to write you a custom tune for your truck.

Superchips has the best canned tunes. If I had an older 4.7 though I'd probably take a look at SCT.

Thanks guys for your advice. I am going to add one thing at a time starting with a baseline 1/4 mi to measure improvements. Of course, temp and humidity play a big factor here but if I make three runs at a time it ought to give some indication of where I made gains. CAI first, looking hard at AIRaid system, like the construction and flow design. Next will be exhaust tune.
