Default Opinion on a Laramie

Hi all I wanted an opinion on a 2011 laramie with 22k miles. Has all options including rear heated seats cooled front tow mirrors brake controller and 3.92 rear. The dealer is asking $29999. Do you think this is a good deal and was there any problems with the 2011 I should know about? Thanks for any help

I bought my Laramie brand new back in 2011, and I haven't had any issues with it (knock on wood). I have been using it lately to tow my boat, and it is still going strong. I feel like the 2011 was a very strong year for Ram. My truck has the heated/cooled seats, 3.55 rear end with limited slip, 2wd, tow package, and tech package. The front end has a slight knock to it when going around a corner on a bumpy road, but the dealership never found an issue. Other than that, all is great.

Put 89 octane in it, have the tires aligned regularly, change the air filter regularly, and enjoy those cooled seats during the summer heat!

As far as the price, I think you are getting ripped off big time. I recently had my truck appraised (I baby this thing and it doesn't have a scratch on it), and the dealership only wanted to give me $22k. My guess is that is probably around the average price paid for a trade. Honestly, I paid $33k brand new for mine which really isn't too far off from where your truck is at. I would work on them a bit on the price or have them throw in a free extended warranty

KBB shows between 29k - 31k from a dealer for a 2011 Laramie QC 4x4 with no extras based on your location of LI. I think KBB estimates on the high side so you should be able to talk him down considerably.

Also when figuring a trade, most dealers I've dealt with go by the latest auction prices for similar vehicles then discount a percentage, which results in a ridiculously low trade-in offer. I'd always try to get them to come up 10% or to at least match the Black Book price.

Location seems to make a huge difference in what dealers think they can ask for a vehicle, and I find asking prices here in the Northeast are friggin' outrageous compared to other parts of the country. Highway robbery, I tell you! Do your research, go in armed with numbers and don't let them rip you off.

Sounds like a nice find though. Good luck!

What was the sticker on that thing? I bought my 11 Laramie 2wd drive loaded down with 26k miles on it and paid about $28k for mine but the sticker was $46,800. Still had it in the glove box when I bought it from the dealer owner. I didn't think you could get a Laramie with a MSRP sticker of $33k. I figured base had to be above that.

If you like the truck, offer less, maybe $26,900 and walk away. Bet they come back with a more attractive price.

I shopped for a 2011 Laramie for several months and that is a hell of a deal. GET IT.
