Default R/T tow rating?

So I was looking on the ramtrucks web site at tow ratings for the 4X2 regular cabs.
Almost all of them had a 9250 lbs tow rating. However, the Sport model had 5050lbs tow rating. I know our trucks are not JUST badged sport models as we have different spring rates and standard 3:92 gearing.. So whats the actual tow rating on the R/T?

Well, i think I just answered my own question...Looks like 5050lbs.

http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/towing_g...wing.Specs.pdf

Not that I care too much because I'm not towing often with it and it'll still tow what I will occasionally need to tow. But I was wondering what the big difference was. I guess its the 22" wheels that kills it?

the Sport does have 5050 lbs tow rating because of the 3.92 axle & because of the size of the wheels & tires

For some reason i thought that the R/T models had 4.11 axle

you ought to get a free Build Sheet at

http://m.ramtrucks.com/webselfservice/ram/index.html

look for YOUR VEHICLE & then Equipment Listing, click on it
then enter your VIN#

Build Sheets make a window sticker look as small as a post card in comparison

Nothing with the 8 speed gets 4.10's anymore, including the R/T.
3.92's are the deepest factory set available now in the 1500's are far as i've been told by the local dealer

R/T lost the higher stall torque converter and 4:10 gears.
We got 8 speed and 3:92s in their place in 2014.

It is kinda weird that theres no official tow ratings for the 2014. We are basically left to assume they are the same as the 2013? Or, as you stated, that they are basically the same as the 2014 Sport.

Yep, I found my build sheet on the ram owners website. Very interesting indeed. I didn't realize the truck came with active grill shutters until I saw that sheet. lol

They are not listed on the window sticker, nor the special spring rates and a few other things. I went out to the truck and looked through the grill and sure enough, active grill shutters!!
