Question Need help choosing drag radials and rim size?

Never done this before but need advice on drag radials and rims. I want to get to the track and have some fun but have no idea what brand of tire, rim size or even when to buy. I've be practicing some launch technics but am getting tire spin off the line. Again any help would be great.

17x9 or 17x10 wheel, 5x5.5 bolt pattern with a 295/45r/17 mt street Mickey Thompson drag radial would be my choice if going with a radial , 28x10x17 Hoosier if going with a slick. Radials are more convienuent because you can drive them on the street if you want and change them at the house instead of the track . 17 is as small of a wheel you can run because of the size of the brakes , you can go 16's but you have to grind your calipers, which is a pita IMO and not worth the hassle

I run either the Hoosier 18x10x17 slicks or M&H 325/45-17 drag radials on 17 x 9 procomp wheels (23 lbs)

I got some M/t et streets on 275/60/15's. Ive always had great luck with e/t streets. No track times yet.

With that being said. Run the smallest rim you can. Gives you more sidewall on the tire. Drop your pressure around 15 and start playing with where it hooks according to the track. I can get away with 15s because im a first gen.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on radials and rims but I have a question on what size tire you put on the front wheels? It's a 2x4.
