Default Questions about Rough Country

Hello all. I am wondering if any one has much experiance with Rough Country products. I work at a dealship and we use their lifts on the Wranglers we lift. Their stuff seems solid. They have a 2.5" leveling kit with shock avable for the 14 2500 as well as a dual steering stabilizer. I am looking for yall imput before I jump on this stuff. They also have a 5" Lift for the new truck setup which is very tempting also! Thanks in advance for info.

Rough Country is definitely on the cheaper end of lift products; however that doesn't mean they don't sell good stuff. If you're just looking to level you shouldn't have any problems with their 2.5" kit. You'll want to get longer shocks and an adjustable track bar to go with it though.
I personally wouldn't even think about running their 5" kit. 5" coil spacers and no radius arm drop is not going to give you a very nice ride. You'd be much better off looking at companies like BDS or Carli if you want a good quality kit that will ride nice. I'm sure there's a few others making lifts for the 2014's as well.

Thanks for the info. Their 2.5" level kit has a shock option for $50 so i planned on doing those. The MOPAR leveling kit is not compatable with the 14MY or I would run it.

I have installed three RC lift kits on Jeeps and trucks (not all mine) and my opinion is...meh....

RC stuff is OK, not great but not junk either. If you want to throw a cheaper kit on then they do the job and for most folks, that is all they will need or want. If you want to do a high quality lift then probably look elsewhere.

I am running the 2.5 on my 1500 and so far it has worked just fine but there is nothing spectacular about it (16k miles).

Run. Run far away and do it quickly. I have personal experience with Rough Country's garbage on my Jeep. Never again will they get one red cent out of me for any product they offer. I had nothing but trouble with their junky springs on my YJ. Sure it's cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for with their junk.

Ordered and installed their 4" lift kit for my YJ. Very first wheeling trip out two days after install on some super mild stuff one of the front leaf springs bent. Called them about warranty replacement. HAH! Clearly I must have abused the hell out of their spring on my first trip out and I must have been running the hammers to bend one of their springs. Sorry, no warranty replacement for you, but we would be happy to sell you a replacement spring for 90 bucks. That should have been my sign to remove it and send it all back to them then. But I didn't.

Over the next two years of owning that junky suspension system which rode like total crap I bent two more front leaf springs and had the center leaves from the rear packs break in half. One chunk shot out from under my Jeep and almost hit someone. Another got wedged sideways in the pack and gouged the hell out of the back side of my rear tire.

Best day of my life was the day I said f this and replaced every bent, rusted, broken piece of rough country crap with Rubicon Express products. I have been running Rubicon Express for a good 8 years now thru much harder and tougher wheeling than I ever did with the RC stuff and have not had a single issue with their stuff. It rides about a thousand times better too.

Ever since that mess I swore not only will I never buy so much as a bushing from rough country in the future, but I would warn anyone and everyone to not buy their crap either. It's only going to cost you a lot more in the long run replacing the crap that breaks that they refuse to warranty and fixing the other stuff on the vehicle that will break and get damaged from the rc junk breaking.
