Default 2013 Hemi Rough cold idle

My 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with the Hemi V-8 has a weird cold idle and Im wondering if this is normal or not.

It is 100% duplicate-able each morning.

Start it up...idles for a few mins and then soon after it starts to FEEL like its missing on a random cylinder or 2. You can FEEL it in the driver seat just sitting there.

Once the temp reaches 25% of normal 12:00 position, the idle smooths out and of course at normal temp, the engine runs fine.

I dont know if this is normal or not. There are no lights or other issues but I also do not know if there is a service bulletin out for this as it FEELS like it could be an ECM flash that's needed. The truck did get one for the engine PCM back in December of 2013 when I took it in for an unrelated issue.

If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it as I hate wasting time at the dealer..

16k on mine and it has never done that, either in 25 degrees in the Colorado mountains to 110 degrees in Texas. It does idle at about 1200 rpm for about 10 seconds or so and then drops down to normal, but I never feel as if it is missing or stumbling.

Thanks guys. She has an appt Tuesday AM. I will drop it off Monday night.
I talked to the service writer (attractive chic that actually knows stuff) and she said she has just the HEMI tech in mind to evaluate this.

I prefer someone slightly old school. Doesnt just rely on a plug-in or laptop to understand things. Like parts guys that can actually LOOK something up without needing a dam VIN all the time, especially if you want an OEM part that didn't come with or on your RAM.

She did indicate there are ECM updates which may or may not apply.

I will post back after they make a comment.

Does it feel like a shimmy every second or so?

Yea...a shimmy is a good word but more than every second.

shimmy,shimmy,shimmy....

the entire ram kinda rocks when this is happening. Its not visable to a person standing there but -You can feel it in the driver seat. But once she reaches 10:00 on the temp gauge and beyond that its almost hard to tell the engine is running, its that smooth.

This isnt subtle. Being a Linc-Merc tech for 2yrs, I suspect either a sensor that is out of spec, yet not throwing a code -or- a cold drive-ability ECM update.

I wish I had a place to lookup STARs from Ram or ECM update fixes. Have not found any source and calling the dealer doesn't help as they wont disclose ECM updates unless you complain about a problem and there IS one out there.

I should know more on Tuesday.
Thanks guys...I appreciate it.

I have had this happen on mine a few times when it was colder outside. It is definitely a misfire because it left a CEL on one time. I scanned it and it was a P0300 - random cylinder misfire. Has not happened since its been warmer out. Only happened about 3 or 4 times total.

No CL and No codes here. But totally duplicate each morning.
The RAM is at the dealer...I should know more today.

Im sure I will get "NTF" and thats fine. I just wanted it evaluated since once it's warmed up u almost cant feel it idling....I suspect a trim adjustment in the ECM hopefully via PATCH.

If I get anything at all, I will post details here of course.
