Default Bonehead moments

Just wanted to start a fun thread and see how many people I could get to admit their misgivings. Post any bonehead moves you've performed throughout your life. Truck related or not. Not sure if I'll catch hell for posting it here but I have a '14 Ram so I should be good right?
Here is mine:
About a year and a half ago I purchased a '12 Ram 2500. I negotiated most of the deal over email seeing as it was a three hour drive to the dealership. When I arrived everything was in order, signed the paperwork and drove off in my new diesel. Well, in all my excitement I managed to over look the fact that my new truck did not have 4 wheel drive, which I absolutely need. Didn't realize my mistake until about halfway home. Called the dealership and they were closed. So I spent a sleepless night praying that the dealership would square me away in the morning. Shammed out of work the next day and showed up at the dealership as the doors opened. After some laughter and head shaking they re did the paperwork and got me into a 4x4 with little to no hassle. Great dealership stupid customer, haha

OMG dude, you win the bonehead award hands down...lol. Glad they worked it all out for you. Most dealers woulda said tough sh_t and you would have taken a huge loss.

It was my 3rd day with my (new to me) used 2010 Ram TRX4, the temperature was around 90 degrees and it was parked in a lot at the doctors office, I started it up and turned the fan up with the a/c on and proceeded to backup turning the wheels to full right lock, the truck went into a big time bind and would barely move, I could not figure out what was wrong with it........ you guessed it I had turned the 4 wheel drive knob instead of the fan knob, they where both in line with one another.

This could be a really good thread.

Guy I worked with thought he bought a AWD van. First snowfall he figured it out. By then, it was too late return it. It was a real deal. LOL

Put a Kenny Bell supercharger on a mustang and got to the dragstrip, tried to do a burnout and it just stumbled bad. HIt the line anyways and it did the same when the tree went off. Spent about an hour troubleshooting before I realized I didn't turn off the traction control which was on by default. Ohhhhhhh. Dumb.

Was in a hurry changing oil on the GMC Duramax and forgot to put the drain plug back before pouring 10 qts of new oil in. That was a mess to clean up.

Back when I first got my driver's license I would sometimes visit the local video store to rent a game or a movie or shoot pool with friends in the back.

Went to start the truck and nothing happened. Glanced at the fuel gauge, was fine. Checked the battery cables, those were okay.
Called up my dad.
He asked me, "You got it in park right?"

...of course! Wait, no......

Took my old truck into dealer to get the oil changed, mechanic(use that term losely), took the plug off tranny and drained it and than added another 5 litres of oil(now I got 10). Didn't get very far.

In 1996 we bought a brand new Dodge dually. Got home and you have to make a 90 degree turn to get into the basement garage. I was very careful because the door is narrow. Few minutes later we went to Wal-Mart, well I pushed the cart into the fender and made a scratch about 4" long. Got back home I said," I got this now", pulled into the garage and scratched the other side. Both fenders on day one and I'm a professional driver?

I thought this might be a good one. Another one I have concerning my wife. Before we met she had went to buy a new Pontiac G6. She was preapproved by USAA for 6% interest rate. She was clueless to the car buying process and the dealership took complete advantage of her and went ahead and financed her through them at a whopping 18.9%. She paid on this for about two years until we met I got the low down. When I explained to her the difference she was furious and embarrassed. Needless to say it took us awhile to get out from underneath that one
