Some how L4 changed the trucks to having tracks, spikes, maybe nailed to the ground?? It still has to use the TIRES to grip the road.

Probably the worst thread on here and definitely not worthy of the bandwidth needed to host it.

Cool test in L4 as well but still, tire grip is essential. Michelins are much grippier compound than our Crapyears. All of us Ram owners know the OE Goodyears are junk when it comes to grip. The Tundra clearly is a worthy adversary but properly equipped shoes are a must when trying to grip cement, asphalt. I do know your Tundra most likely has a 4.30 rear gear. What does your Ram have? 3.21's? If your Ram has 3.92's coupled with the 8HP70 and mount the same brand rubber on both trucks with same air pressures,.........it would then be closely matched. Tug of war only demonstrates who holds their brakes long enough to get the opposing to loose grip by burning rubber, then the other truck simply rolls away by properly modulating the gas and brake pedal so as to stay in the torque powerband. Tricks and tips brother and a good sticky set of Nitto Drag radials aired down to 20 psi.

I found it entertaining, what somebody else chooses to do with their trucks is their business. It would be fun to see the two trucks with the same tires and gear ratios do the test.

To be honest have no idea what ratio the dodge is running but I completely agree with that point, I plan on doing a few more comparisons. Absolutely right about the tire brands but to be honest think the ratio prob has more to do with it from the video, but who knows exactly. Form the specs the tundra does seem to reach peak torque earlier (albeit slightly).

Mate calm down, I was referring to L4 test when tire slippage wasn't so much an issue the result was still the same. No need to be so emotional

Also agree that the test in 4 low makes no difference since tire traction is the limiting factor. Try it with similar rubbers on and then see the result, and by similar I mean same model of tire, same width, etc... Also do both have LSD?

I just think those exoctic cars in your other videos are cool as hell. Not gonna beat the dead horse about tire traction, gearing and all the other bs like the others. The new tundras are not my cup of tea and do find them fugly, but they are a nice truck in a way and much better then what they used to be. Also can't deny that they have stepped up their full size truck game too, which benefits everyone because the results is all companies continuing with improvements to stay new and not fall behind. Looks like you got yourself a nice selections of trucks to choose for the morning
