Default Power To Radar Detector

What is the best way to hide the power wire to my radar detector and would I need a special cord? I have a Belltronics 955 plugged in to the center console cigarette lighter right now and suction cupped to the windshield. This new mount along with hiding the power wire would look very clean! Thanks!

When you remove the two screws holding the top of the dash console you will see there is a little hole there that your wires should fit into. Once you remove the console (there may be a 3rd screw in the cubby above the USB port on the right. (screws are T20 torx).

The console pulls right off, just work your way around it and you may then have to unplug the various components to be able to work in the area.

There is a lot of room for loose wires back of the console and you will be able to unplug the power from the back of the cigar lighter. You will then be able to tap into the power and negative wires for that lighter and put back in place.

Here is a thread done by SShadow1974 - http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=170812 This should help.

Thanks a lot! My cigar lighter is in the front storage bin of the floor console of my RT. Is it a pia to get to the cigar/charger socket wiring inside the floor console?

That I couldn't tell you as I do not have that trim. I have the full bench seat with hidden console, no electronics in that seat portion.
