Thanks G8WING and AggieRam!

I am a little jealous that you have Longhorn editions and I don't. :-( I regret not holding out for a Longhorn. My Laramie is sharp, but I really like your interior.

Dont get me wrong the 3.92 will get you off the line a smiggin faster but the 3.21 will do better down the road.

Your truck will make the same or should I say enough rwhp and torque. It really just comes in to peak at different rpm ranges.

I have had the 3.92 and the 3.21 and the 3.21 with the new 8 speed feels as strong as my 3.92 5 speed ever did and my truck is rated higher in towing than my last. So no worries.

Guys I understand gearing, but at my age I understand having more than I need. what I needed more was gas savings a bit and "a little less of a fun factor" . I have no doubt in my choice knowing I am getting a travel traler.
I averaged 10.1 MPG with my 3.92 and 8 speed on a trip from PA to SC last month towing our 7500# 30' (loaded) trailer. The max RPM up the climbs in the mountains was 4000 and i drive at 67 MPH when towing in tow haul mode. I have to disagree with you on fuel mileage being better with the 3.21 gears at least when towing the difference is night and day between them.

We have a Palomino Solaire 297RLDS.

Guess we have gotten lucky so far, first TT and only a couple very minor issues to be taken care of so far.

That's a nice looking camper Gator! How are you engine oil temps while pulling? Mine get a bit hot. 240+ degrees.
