i bought my 97 half ton ram from hassell auto group...the truck ran well when i bought it and drove really nice, but 20 miles after i bought it the front drivers wheel bearing went bad, and less than a thousand miles i had to put a new tranny in it, also had to replace all the ball joints within a month from buying it.
I know most of that is typical wear and tear, but when i did the ball joints they were bad enough that they should have caught it when they did thier "safety check" and the same was true for the wheel bearing. Also i was told that the vehicle was in excellent condition. They then told me that they would not take repair any of the 3 things because it was not thier problem.
One other thought, i asked about the history and they said there was no knowledge of any history, upon purchasing the truck one of the mechanics told me it was an old plow truck. but all the paperwork was done so i only hoped for the best.
Thats too bad man. You could have done what i did once. Sort of the same thing. Bought a Blazer certified and noticed alot of noise underneath. Took it to Midas and they checked it. Exhaust was loose and banging around, come to find that the emeg. cable was disconnected and the rear brakes were pretty well gone. I called the place i bought it from and told them they had two options. One pay me what its going to cost to fix all this at a different garage with new cert. or i can go around the corner to M.T.O. In short...the lil guy won.
