Default 2014 V6 Camaro

My son and I played a few times with his 2011 Camaro but never ran any further then a block since I was ahead we just gave up. But today he was shooting off his mouth on the side of me with his newer 2014. And when we hit it from a 30 mph roll my truck wouldn't downshift from 4th so I shut it down immediately and told him. Naturally he didn't believe me and ribbed me about pulling me. I been having something wrong with my transmission again with era code P0734 incorrect gear ratio. I had to clear the codes twice. But sometimes like today there was no code, just a loud clunking and no downshifting. Thought my rearend was going to fall out. I tried twice and it wouldn't downshift both times. So we just went on about our business. I get home and he's bragging to his friends and made a 20 dollar bet that he would beat me again. So I took him up on it but I manually shifted gears and beat him three times. But wow, I only beat this six cyl by about 3 to 5 cars each time, 5 being my best. It was very close out the hole by 1/2 car and slowly pulled him to 90 to 100 and had to let off. I don't know if my truck is running bad or his Camaro is fast. But it shifted nice catching rubber every time in sec gear and sounding good. Just want to say, that Camaro gave me my second best race. It's hard to believe they run that fast. Not sure what his runs but I had to look up their specs and @323hp 14.2 et...WOW! He told me it shifts out of first at 6800 rpms, ha ha, I laughed. But I checked and it's capable. That doesn't make me feel too good though. I thought my truck was faster than that. Logged a 13.70 with my tuner the one and only time I tried it? So it's going in the shop to get the trans fixed and my first tune up at around 75k miles asap. And then back to a new 1/4 mile run. Cudos to Chevy V6 Camaro, hate to see what Z28 would do to me

About 3650 for the Camaro. Hey Sixfive, nice truck! I have surprised many people with my long bed Tradesman!

I had a 2013 V6 Camaro before my ram. Ran a best of 14.2 @96mph. They are pretty fast for a heavy v6. Hemi has much more potential. Not much of an engine performance aftermarket for the 3.6 since its already at 323hp stock.

I raced a 2014 V6 camaro at a local 1/8 mile track about 2 weeks ago... They have $10 race nights, no time slips but unlimited runs. I left him by 2.5/3 car lengths by the time we got to the finish line.

Granted he was stock.... Currently have vararam, catback exhaust, PTB, and tune.

Nice kill!

V6 Camaro's are pretty damn quick, I actually think they're one of the better base "Muscle" cars available right now. V6 Stangs, SXT Chargers, just dogs (sorry, no offense to any SXT owners!).

Those Z28's though, they're nuts! Even the SS I won't touch yet in my GTI, let alone my Ram; the SS is, at worst, a high 12 low 13 (though the newer 1LE is hitting mid 12's)...the Z28 is sitting on low 12's in the quarter, low 4 seconds to 60, just a beast...

My 2011 3.7 Mustang that I traded in on my Ram was the quickest NA 3.7 Mustang in the country! It ran a best of 12.60 @ 109 MPH on 17" drag radials and would still get 28 MPG on the highway!

The 3.7 Mustang's are much quicker than the V6 Camaro's!

If you're hating on a mid 12 second 6 speed manual car that served as my daily driver for almost 4 years then so be it! It ran better, handled better and got better gas mileage than most V8 cars!

They can absolutely become beasts, I drove a 2014 as my rental when I went down to Florida last year and the car was definitely quick for a stock V6. I think my comment was a generalization, and probably a little outdated for the V6 stangs. The 2010's were 6.6 to 60 and a 15.3 quarter...just made you want to cry a little on the inside, considering the same year 6th gen GTI was making nearly identical horsepower in an I-4, but at a lower weight was able to take out the V6 stock for stock. The 2014's are better now for sure, and there is quite a bit that can be done to them to make them much faster than stock, so my intention wasn't to say they are all slow (especially not when worked on)

Is that in relation to my comment that the z28 is a beast?
