haha...I got a kick out of this...

but...my only thought I have to add, is...my 98 Ram with 140k that has spent its entire life in FL, and has been driven hard and never kept in a garage...
the paint is peeling and the dash is cracked...
but, you know what, it'll still spin the tires through 1st gear and part of 2nd...with 140k and all its had engine wise was the cooling system replaced.
The dash cracking...yes thats poor quality as every other Chrysler product we own, (2 1968s, an 81, 85, and 87) the dashes are perfect...

but...thats one piece of interior trim, not the structural integrity of the truck...the rest of the truck is trouble free, and, to be honest...is way more reliable than my Mitsubishi, and has had far less recalls and problems then my dads 08 Ford Crown Vic (which got repainted by Ford by the way)...

So...yeah...I'll leave it at that.

Also...about the airbags...thats impossible. They're a metal box bolted to a steel frame under the dash...that thing ain't moving.

First off, hello i am new to the site and i love it! I am not sure what vehicles you have owned but i have owned a 95 dodge avenger,98 dodge ram ss/t, a 2004 dodge ram hemi gtx and a 2008 dodge charger. I can't complain about any one of them. They have all been problem free and i loved every one of them. Not sure what you are talking about them, but i feel the quality of these vehicles is good, just my opinion.

This thread has taken a detour from the OP's "letter". I couldn't be happier.

As a multi-chrysler owner, I Haven't experienced any of the issues the original poster specified. But, as a former vehicle appearance professional, I can reply to him by letting him know how many Mercedes Benz vehicles I have encountered with the exact issues he says he has with this Chryslers. Cracked dashes, failed floor mats, peeling clear coat, hazy headlights, cracked and worn leather, sagging headliners, and I could go on. I have seen this on BMW's , Jags, Range Rovers, etc. All vehicles are capable of failures, but the issues above are 90% of the time caused by neglect. Clean your vehicle occasionally, protect it, lube it and it will last a long, long time.

my 99 ram sport with 86000 on the clock, spent its first 7yrs in florida, and it had the usual paint / dashboard problem, but I cant think of any other vehicle I would sooner have ! can I just mention Toyota / recalls, nothing mechanical stays perfect forever, just lasts a lot longer the better you look after it.

My 86 Monte Carlo was just out of the show room and the window button fell into the door. Did I cry about it? No I fixed it and drove it all the while having other problems along the way, tranny, paint, body sqeeks, etc.. Did I ever buy another Chevy? No. My son's 01 Ram-2500 is coming up on 300,000 miles and he has had problems but he is looking at getting another DODGE HD because no other truck could have given him the dependability this one has. I worked at Toyota Headquarters and drove a Durango even though I could have gotten a great deal on a 4-Runner. Why? Because the Durango looked better and fit better and had a V-8. It stopped better too. After everything is said and done it's all about maintaining your equipment. He who do will have less gripes, he who doesn't will be miserable. Ok I'm done.
