Sorry, you're correct. I'm not able to edit my post for some reason. Sealant then wax. Liquid wax doesn't last as long as a paste wax, but it's easier to apply, so there's an advantage/disadvantage to either type. I can't comment on much of the "off the shelf" products as I only use 3M, but I've used AutoMagic, CarBrite, Mothers, Meguiars and Simoniz. Simoniz is called Blue Coral in the United States and it is absolute garbage.

Lotsa folks, myself included, are prone to 'forget' about paint care after they've had a vehicle for a while,,,(5-10 yrs) Perhaps just wash it in the 'drive through' and use the car wash wax (better than nothing!),
I'm just now learning more about waxs and sealants,,, gonna try to at least put out a bit more 'effort' in protecting the paint,,,,
FWIW, the paint on my old Silverado actually was in great shape! There were 'years' that went by with it only getting the 'car wash' wax,,,

I picked up my Clay Bar Kit today. Now just have to wait for some nice weather. It's not looking like it's gonna happen any time soon, calling for another foot of snow.

Thanks everyone for all the paint protection tips.

Drive safe brotha, don't want you to end up with a trashed truck like mine! I hear about all the crazy weather coming out east. Watch out!

Wow, that seems like a lot. I wouldn't clay bar more than once every 6 months, and wax once every 4 months. Use a quality wax and you should be all right.

looks great... clean truck.. at my local O'reillys and autozone you can buy a clay bar kit i think from Meguiars brand and it is specifically for BLACK vehicles like ours

i might pick it up and take some pics before and after.
i've clayed all my other vehicles and you just can't compare how it feels after to run that microfiber through the paint and it just *glides* across

ahhhh... thats a good feeling.
