Default Audio Questions

I've just purchased a set of Focal krx2 6.5 componants for the front and Focal 6*9's for the rear. My question is after much research and reading of various audio and ram related forums I cant decide where to mount the tweeters. some say the tweeter needs to be with 12" of the mid bass some say in the A-pillar. my local shop suggested placing it in the factory 3.5 spot in the dash. so chithead, dodgeman, doc and anyone else with experiance please chime in.

I've always had good results with the A-pillars. The dash is also a good spot.

Mine are under the dash in the kick panels way off-axis. Different tweeters will have different responses.

Absolute best thing to do is get some tape, stick them in different areas, and rock out. That'll tell you where to put them. Might also want to try pointing them towards the listeners, towards the dome light, and even try facing them towards each other.

Thanks for the feed back. The Focal tweeters are an inverted dome design. that's why i was asking for advice. The problem is that I am having my local shop put them in so I won't be there to try them in different spots. Has anyone used an inverted dome design my shop is telling me the sound will be bounced off the windshield.

It should be ok. The windshield is sloped enough to get good deflection from it, so as long as the tweeters aren't too harsh, you will get plenty of treble.
