Default buying new cummins motor?

Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket dealers that carry a 24 valve 5.9L cummins? and I don't mean a rebuilt, I was thinking new. Just curious since I'm thining about a Dakota swap and want to start pricing. I haven't seen any availaible, so I might have to go with a local yard/savlage title to get a motor and chassis.

Who can say no to 700HP in a mini truck with a Dana80 rear end?

Obviously, a "new" motor comes from MOPAR. Lots of sellers out there.

You might be bucks ahead to find a used one and have it built to your specs.

We have a new 5.7 MDS Hemi sitting in parts for $3750 that I've been eyeballing for mine! Trouble is I'd have to swap the trans and transfer case along with the engine, wiring and PCM.

I keep thinking about that, but I don't want to start with a 200+mile block which is mostly what I can find here. I know they're heavy duty blocks, but the idea of putting 60lbs of boost and mid compression into an older block just worries me. Though, it'd give me some breathing room to get the forged pieces I want.

Even thought about a new 6.7L and saying "nuts" to the emissions gear and letting the larger displacement put some serious power down.

You could find a bare block, have it magnafluxed for cracks and go from there. The older Cummins 5.9L 24V engines are pretty stout.
