I've already had my hands on the Pentastar at school and it's a pretty impressive engine. The DOHC with VVT configuration should make it pretty strong. The advertised HP I heard was 280 but I haven't seen anything official yet.

Well it's different looking that for sure, seems like Jeep is straying futher away from its "Trail Rated" past and moving into the crossover market with the new Grand Cherokee. Perhaps it is what the business needs as it seems more people are giving up on there SUV's and headed to crossovers, but I still like the traditional ready to tackle anything Jeep, such as the styling of the Commander, hopefully that doesn't get all rounded out on us too.

Here you go
Ordering for the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has begun, with production set for May 2010. An extended version, dubbed the Dodge Durango (possibly Dodge Magnum), is planned. The Grand Cherokee will debut with a standard Pentastar V6 on all models; the 290 horsepower V6 engine is said to be smoother than competitors from Toyota, Honda, and GM, and has variable cam timing to allow for good gas mileage. The Hemi will remain optional on all but the base model.
The independent front and rear suspension have isolated cradles. Variable-rate rear springs improve on-road handling and comfort, and the spare tire is stored inside as opposed to underneath. Torsional rigidity has been increased 146%.

It's myu understand that the Commander is on it's way out. The new Grand may have a bit more of a crossover look to it but the new variable height suspension system looks to be more than trail worthy.

I would think so too, the Commander constantly has HUGE rebates and they still can't seem to sell them.

Yes, but they are keeping it overseas as a large SUV. But, discontinuing it here in the US.
