Default Stability control

The owners' manual I downloaded from the net says that briefly pressing the dash button that the stability feature would be partially disabled until about 45 mph. Above that the system would come on again. The manual further says that to permanently disable the system, press the same button but hold it for five or so seconds. The manual then says it will stay off and the words "system off" will display on the dash. However, all that pressing of the switch for even longer only displays the icon and must be pushed each time I start the truck.
Does anyone have the suggested system or is this a 'manual mistake'?

When you have it off (partially off) by holding the button until the icon appears, it will revert to the default once you have cycled the ignition to Off and back to On.

So yes, you will have to disable it each time you turn the truck On.

My SRT8 Chrysler does the same thing.
