Default Cloudy Headlights

Thought I would quickly share this and hope it helps somebody else. When I bought the truck it had the "cloudy headlight syndrome". They were yellowed and cloudy. I priced replacements and choked when I saw the price tags, but luckily came across the Headlight restore kit by 3M. I was pretty skeptical but wow did it work. I paid $18.00 for it at a Walmart, add a couple hours of my time and bingo!

Sorry the pic is not the greatest. All I had available was my iphone camera.

This is kind of before and after if you compare the driver side to the passenger side in this pic. I saved a ton of money and made the lights look 100% better. Oh and yes I did do the drivers side since taking this photo

I would assume toothpaste would work pretty well if the lights are not in too bad of shape? Mine really needed some serious sanding. I know you cant tell from that pic but mine were very cloudy and a nasty yellow tint to them.

Thanks for the toothpaste tip though. I'll try that next time they need polished up.

What a difference! I've used the Mequiars kit before and was amazed at the results. Definitely cheaper than a new set of headlights!

I am just glad I stumbled across alternatives before buying new headlights. Had I found this fix method after spending all that money on new ones I would be pretty upset. Come to think of it I may have found the idea on this board somewhere originally.

I am still pretty amazed at how well it turned out.

I am glad you all found these products because I am sure it is a matter of time before ours start doing the clouding thing! I will keep all of this on hand! Thank you so much, all of you!

Great job cleaning those lights! that looks way better now! I saw the Meguires also makes a headlight restore kit when I went to Canadian Tire the other day. It is a common issue if they are not taken care of properly
