I have visited most of the local shops that cater to imports to see what they have for Rams etc. There's not much Mod'ing going on around my parts... But thats going to change.

I just hope I get to learn 5% as much and be 5% as good as most of you guys are here on RamForumz.

I have a K & N and love it.. Reality is they all do the same thing, some claim 1 to 10 more HP than others, hell you can loose that gain rolling down a window at 45 HPH.. Stick with your budget and buy the one you think looks best!

I agree... if looks are important... then so be it. I have seen flashy chrome ones... This coming from a guy who loves chrome) and I seen all black ones. To me.. Im not so concerned with the looks. In the past several years I leased and bought many cars. The only time I go under the hood is to change a bulb or something.

Granted that will change with needing access to power sources for mods. LOL

But reality is Im not opening my hood to show off my motor or my CIA when Im going down the street. So for me... being that performance is about the same... I choose to go based on sound.

Today I should be getting a video of a K&N with stock exhaust to hear what that sounds like. RamForumZ Member Stinkyteeth post a picture of his K&N Here: http://www.ramforumz.com/PHOTOPOST/s...php/photo/2837 nice and simple all black. If it sounds good maybe K&N will be in the running again.

Tim

I have the K&N!! i like it....sounds good too..slight whistling at a certain RPM range but can't hear it much over the exhuast! Mine came with the truck when i got it too saved me having to make the choice and like many others it accomplishes the same thing!

I have heard the black plastic piping is better then any of that chrom stuff tho...as it doesn't heat up as much under the hood!

That looks exactly like the Spectre one I put on last weekend. So far I'm real happy with it. Was a little tight to get to fit, but one I figured it out, it runs sweet.

The air is moving so fast through the intake that heat transfer from the pipe to the air makes a negligible difference. Of greater importance is where you are pulling the air FROM (the engine bay or fender/front of truck).
