I have a 2000 1500 magnum v8 5.2l auto quad cab. I guessing it is a lot like yours. and like randy says it is a dog under a load. it pulls an empty 18' car hauler without much effort (guess 1800lbs). it also seemed all right with pulling a 16' trihull fish boat (guess 2500lbs). it has a really hard time with the 21' ski/wakeboard boat (guess 4500lbs). I would check the truck tow capacity vs. the weight of 30' camper. I think my 30' bumper pull weighs 6900lbs. I have not tried to pull it with the dodge. hope this helps.
my 97 5.2L could only dream of pulling that dodge told me its max was 3000 but that was specifically to my truck
